One of the exhilerating and exhausting parts of readers’ advisory is when those special “one of a kind” books come along. Exhilerating because everyone’s abuzz about a book. Exhausting because you can’t readily hand your readers something “just like it.” Fortunately for fans of Herman Koch’s deliciously twisty novel The Dinner, there are enough tension-filled tales of darkness for every taste.
