Just as you can’t judge a book by its cover, you can’t weigh a book’s merit by its heft alone. But, there is something rewarding about picking up a 700+ page book that promises days (if not weeks!) of enjoyment. Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch and Man Booker Prize-winning The Luminaries are two current titles toppling many “to-be-read” piles.
